Project Description

Paper Shadow Boxes

I have enjoyed paper since I was a toddler and learned to use scissors when I was in diapers. I would cut and fold paper for hours, making small doll houses and drawing portraits of friends and family. Fast forward to my 30s and I am enjoying the process of creating paper art both digitally and manually. My favorite type of paper art is the classic layered shadow box. I like to experiment with different analog and digital techniques including hand-cut elements, laser cut paper and the occasional experiment in photo-realistic digital paper illustration.

Kids Paper Diorama

This is a hand-made paper diorama I created with my 7-year old daughter. Despite the occasional tensions about hot glue and color schemes, we completed this one in one day. It is so much fun having a mutual hobby to enjoy with your children.
