Novatel Wireless contracted me to take studio and lifestyle photos of a few of their MiFi devices. The photos were used for product documentation and websites.

Studio shots were tricky due to the shiny finish on the products and the small size. The lighting was tightly controlled in a studio where I used reflectors to get the preferred level of sheen on the plastic. Each photo was painstakingly photoshopped to remove the background so the device could be on a transparent background.

For the lifestyle photos, I created an artificial setup of a vacation scene and a designer’s desk to show that the device is portable and can be connected to multiple devices.
